"Herkо Trading" Ltd. was established in 1998. In its early years, it engaged in different commercial activities, but at the end of 1999, it began purchasing old automotive catalysts. Over these more than 20 years of its operation, the company has bought and exported over 100 tons of ceramic for its partner Umicore in Belgium. We can confidently state that we have created an easy, successful, and relatively profitable way for thousands of our compatriots to earn additional income and a new niche for several hundred service centres across the country.
Over the years, the company developed a good organisation for local purchasing, having its own buyers from all district and municipal centres of the country. Several imports were made from the Middle East - Jordan, Turkey, from Sweden, and regularly from Macedonia and Serbia, and in the last 3-4 years - from Greece. There were occasional deliveries from Italy and Spain, but with the change in market conditions and the subsequent drastic fall in metal exchange prices since 2008, the company focused its efforts on the Bulgarian market.
Our representative regularly travels across the country to purchase catalysts, and in the cities of Burgas, Varna, Montana, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven, and Yambol, we also have our representatives.
Our desire is to continually develop and update the database we have, to regularly check and refresh the available data so that we can always keep up with market conditions and offer courteous, polite, correct, and competitive service to our numerous clients.
Although the company is a small, family-owned business, we have a very good and modern warehouse base with new equipment for receiving, analysing, cutting, packaging, and dispatching the finished products. For over a year and a half, we have been able to perform rapid chemical analysis of the catalysts, as a result of which we have created a database with over 10,000 catalysts from the most popular brands, models, and modifications on the Bulgarian market. This helps us in accurately valuing each old catalyst handed to us and increases our clients' trust in us.
